Fleetplan Australia Privacy Policy

The Fleetplan Austraila Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") sets out:

  • - why we need to collect personal information;
  • - how we collect it;
  • - what we do with it;
  • - how it's stored; and;
  • - who we might share it with and why.

The Privacy Policy also describes:

  • - how you can access or correct information we hold about you;
  • - how you can ask further questions or make a complaint; and
  • - information about our websites and online activities.

'Personal information' is defined within The Privacy Act (1988) as any "information or an opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable."

Fleetplan Australia is bound by the Privacy Act (1988).

In providing you with the Fleetplan Australia Applications and Services ("Fleetplan Australia") we will occasionally receive, store and process 'personal information' about you that you make available to us.

  • When you create an account with Fleetplan Australia;
  • When you request Fleetplan Australia assistance in purchasing a car (also referred to as "getting a quote");
  • When you request a test drive of a car;
  • When you communicate with Fleetplan Australia in person, phone calls, emails and via social media;
  • When you link your account on a third party site (e.g. Facebook) to your Fleetplan Australia account, in which case we will obtain the Personal Information that you have provided to the third party site, to the extent allowed by your settings with the third party site and authorised by you.
 

Without such information, we may not be able to provide you with an appropriate level of service.

Keeping your information secure

We use security procedures and technology to protect the information we hold. Access to and use of personal information within Fleetplan Australia seeks to prevent misuse or unlawful disclosure of the information, this includes internal policies, auditing, training and monitoring of staff.

 

If other organisations provide support services, we require them to appropriately safeguard the privacy of the information provided to them.

Requesting a test drive

When you request a test drive via Fleetplan Australia, we must necessarily disclose the information you provide to the car dealer who will fulfill your test drive request. Any information expressly provided by you when you request a test drive may be passed on to the car dealer, including your preference as to whether or not you would like to receive promotional communications from the car dealer; by default, you will be opted-out of receiving such communications.

Requesting assistance buying a car

When you request assistance purchasing a car (also referred to as "getting a quote") via Fleetplan Australia, we must necessarily disclose the information you provide to the car dealer who you select to purchase the car from. Any information expressly provided by you when you request assistance purchasing a car may be passed on to this car dealer, including your preference as to whether or not you would like to receive promotional communications from the car dealer; by default, you will be opted-out of receiving such communications.

Other:

We may also share personal information within Fleetplan Australia, and may disclose personal information outside Fleetplan Australia as required by law or regulations.

Products and services relating to finance on Fleetplan Australia are provided by Fleetplan Australia ABN 69 143 973 531, Australian Credit Licence 390763, a subsidiary of Credit Group Australia Pty Ltd ACN: 143 973 531 Australian credit licence: 390763 ("Fleetplan Australia") and its related bodies corporate.

Should you interact with Fleetplan products and services, you may, in the course of using those products and services, be required to provide 'personal information' to Fleetplan Australia. In such instances, your 'personal information' will be handled in accordance with the Fleetplan Australia Terms of Use , Important Information and Privacy Policy , and Regulatory Disclosures (collectively the "Policies and Procedures of Fleetplan Australia").

If you do not agree to any part of the Policies and Procedures of Fleetplan Australia, then we cannot provide the Fleetplan Australia products and services to you, and you should stop accessing Fleetplan Australia products and services.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that all information we hold is as accurate and up-to-date. You are able to contact us at any time and ask for its correction if you feel the information we have about you is inaccurate or incomplete. You can do so by writing to enquiries@fleetplan.com.au.

When you create an account with Fleetplan Australia

When you create a Fleetplan Australia account, any information you provide will be retained indefinitely so long as your account remains active ('active' in this case means you have not explicitly advised us you wish to delete the account).

When you delete your Fleetplan Australia account, your account data, including any personal information, will be immediately and permanently deleted. Non-personal information may be retained in a de-identified state.

We may otherwise retain related information, which may include personal information, in such a state and for a period of time as required by law or regulations. For example, we are required by law to keep records of your transactions with us for a period of at least 7-years.
